Fish

Fish takes a well-worn theme and gives it a clever collection mechanic. Fish stored in the boat above the reels act as the final multiplier, so every catch counts twice, and the sticky net turns free spins into a steady build. With 97.00% RTP across every mode and a 20,000x pearl, it is one of Twist Gaming's strongest titles, if a high-volatility one.

Fish review

Fishing slots are everywhere, and most of them borrow the same formula. Fish, from Twist Gaming, keeps the sea and the fisherman but builds something different on top: a collect mechanic in which the fish you catch end up hanging from a boat above the reels, and the number of them decides how hard the final prize hits.

It went live on Stake on 2 June 2026, with SlotCatalog listing it a few days later on 8 June, and it has stayed busy since. Juice's own games page listed $17.71M wagered across 10.7M bets over the 30 days to mid-October 2026.

Fish at a glance
Fish is a high-volatility slot on a 6x5 grid that pays 8 or more matching symbols anywhere. RTP is 97.00% in every published mode and the max win is 20,000x the bet. Fish Collect triggers when a gold fish lands on a net, and the total is multiplied by the number of fish hanging from the boat. A max win pearl pays 20,000x outright.

A gentle look, a sharp mechanic

Visually, Fish is soft and cartoonish: a calm stretch of sea, a fisherman's boat suspended above the reels, and symbols that stay on theme. The low payers are the royals 10 to A. The high payers are a blue shell, a green rope, a brown coin and, at the top, a purple starfish.

The boat is more than decoration. It is where the fish you collect are stored, and it is the first thing worth watching once the feature starts.

How Fish plays

The grid is 6 reels by 5 rows. Stake's info table labels Fish as cluster pays, but its own rules and paytable describe 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the board, and SlotCatalog says pay anywhere. That is how the game works: symbols do not need to touch, they only need to appear in sufficient numbers. Wins pay in bands of 8-9, 10-11, 12-14 and 15 or more.

At a 1.00 bet, 10 and J pay 0.10 for 8-9 and 2.00 for 15 or more, while the starfish pays 7, 15, 30 and 50 across the four bands. The coin is next at up to 25, then the rope at 20 and the shell at 15. The published maths put the base-game hit rate at about 16.8%, so most spins are blanks and the collect feature carries the value.

Fish features

Fish Collect

Fish Collect triggers when a gold fish or a fish multiplier lands on a net. The fish are stored in the boat above the reels, and individual fish values range from 0.20x to 1,000x the bet. When the collection ends, the total prize is multiplied by the number of fish hanging from the boat.

That makes quantity as important as quality. A string of small fish can be worth more than one big catch, because each one adds to the multiplier as well as to the prize pot. It is a neat piece of design, and it means a collection is rarely over until the last fish is counted.

Max win pearl

The rarest catch is a pearl. If the net picks it up, it pays the full 20,000x. According to the published maths, the max-win event in the base game arrives about once in 2 million spins, which is more often than in most Twist titles but still very rare.

Free spins

Four or more whale scatters award 10 free spins. During the round the net is sticky, so it stays in place and Fish Collect is active throughout, giving the feature a steady build. Landing 2 or more scatters during free spins adds extra spins, although Stake does not state how many.

Bonus buy

Where the casino and jurisdiction allow it, Stake lists four buy options, and the published maths match each price:

  • FS Trigger Boost: 2.5x per spin.
  • Net Boost 1: 100x per spin.
  • Max Win Boost: 1,000x per spin.
  • Free Spins: 300x.

The maths catalogue also contains modes at 200x, 300x, 400x and 500x, which look like higher Net Boost levels, but Stake does not name them. Check the in-game menu to see what your casino offers.

Cluster pays or pay anywhere?
Stake's info table calls Fish a cluster pays game, but its rules, its paytable and SlotCatalog all describe 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. The RTP is 97.00% in all nine published modes. Check the game's info screen at your casino for the version it runs.

Volatility and who it suits

Stake rates Fish as high volatility. Most base spins pay nothing, fish values swing from 0.20x to 1,000x, and the boat multiplier means the gap between a quiet collection and a big one is wide. It suits players who like collection mechanics and are comfortable riding out long gaps between features. The 97.00% RTP is among the best in the Juice catalogue, and it applies to the buys as well.

Where to play Fish

Like the rest of the Twist catalogue, Fish launched as a Stake exclusive. Read our Stake review first: Stake is a Curaçao-licensed site, so check that it is legal where you live. Since Juice opened its games to other operators in September 2026, more casinos may add it.

Tongue Game uses the same 8-plus pay-anywhere paytable with a far darker theme and a tongue doing the collecting. Gates of Athena applies the same 6x5 grid to Greek myth, with gold symbol upgrades instead of a collect feature. You will find more in our slot reviews.

Our verdict on Fish

Fish is a reminder that a familiar theme is no problem when the mechanic is good. Storing catches in the boat and using their number as the final multiplier is simple to grasp and makes every fish feel valuable, and the sticky net gives the free spins a proper sense of build. Add a 97.00% RTP in every mode and a pearl worth 20,000x, and it is one of the studio's best.

It is still high volatility. Play responsibly: set limits before you start and keep the buy options in proportion to your budget.
