Realm of Rats

Realm of Rats is a slot from Twist Gaming, released in November 2024 as a Stake exclusive and later released more widely. It is set in a toxic, rat-run underworld and combines a pay-anywhere grid with two very different bonus rounds.

How Realm of Rats plays

The game uses a grid of 6 reels and 5 rows without paylines. You win by landing 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. Winning symbols disappear and new ones fall in, and the cascades continue as long as new wins form. RTP is 97%, volatility is medium and the maximum win is 10,000 times the bet.

Features in Realm of Rats

Wilds and Wild Rush

Wilds can land on all reels and substitute for every symbol except scatters and multipliers. With Wild Rush, between 2 and 5 wilds can be placed randomly on the grid while the reels spin.

Multiplier Bonus

Scatters land on reels 2 to 5, and 4 of them in one spin sequence trigger one of the two bonuses at random. The Multiplier Bonus starts with 6 free spins. Multiplier symbols feed three persistent meters, yellow, blue and pink, each tied to a rat symbol. A win with a rat of the matching colour is multiplied by that meter's value, and 2 or more scatters add the same number of extra spins.

Match 3 Bonus

The other bonus presents 12 sealed toxic cans. You open them one by one until three prizes match, and the round ends after three matches.

Bonus buy and Power Boost

Where it is available, you can buy direct entry to either bonus for 150 times the bet. Power Boost costs 2 times the bet per spin and guarantees at least one scatter on every spin, with four times the chance of triggering a bonus.

RTP, volatility and max win

Who is Realm of Rats for?

Realm of Rats suits players who like pay-anywhere slots with cascades and want a bonus that builds up over the round. The high RTP is a plus, while medium volatility means the swings are smaller than in the most extreme slots. For a high-volatility game from the same studio, see Welcome to Miami.

Our verdict on Realm of Rats

Realm of Rats takes a familiar pay-anywhere format and adds a bonus with real build-up: the three multiplier meters make every free spin count. The 97% RTP is among the higher ones you will find.

The random choice between the two bonuses will not suit everyone, and the Match 3 round is more about luck than build-up. Set a budget before you start.
